Saquon Barkley injury update: Latest news on Eagles RB’s status in Week 7 game - Yahoo Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles have an injury concern with running back Saquon Barkley in the second half of their Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Barkley returned from a hamstring injury that had kept him out for the last two games and had been battling discomfort, but he is now on the sideline with a back injury. The Eagles announced he is officially questionable to return. Before his exit, he carried seven times for 62 yards, including a long of 29, and scored a touchdown. He also had two catches for nine yards.

The Eagles are already without Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks. Dameon Pierce and Elijah Mitchell, who was elevated from the practice squad for this game, will take over backfield duties, with Pierce likely to be the lead back. Philadelphia is also missing backups Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley, both on injured reserve. The Eagles have a short week before their Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders.
