“Israel enemies want us to lose”: Netanyahu makes final pitch as Israel votes today in first election after October 7 massacre

Jerusalem , October 27 (ANI): In a few hours from now, Israel's 7,331,981 voters will step out to decide who

Israel votes Tuesday in its first election since the Hamas-led massacre of October 7, 2023. Its 7,331,981 voters will choose among 34 parties for the Knesset. Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been at the centre of power for 19 years, faces former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and his Yashar party, which leads opinion surveys. Neither bloc is projected to win the 61 seats needed for a majority on its own. Netanyahu posted that Israel's enemies want Israel to lose and urged voters to back Likud. Eisenkot's campaign focuses on accountability for October 7 and an independent commission of inquiry.

After the votes are tallied, President Isaac Herzog will consult party leaders and task a lawmaker with forming a government. That candidate will have 28 days, with a possible 14-day extension. If all attempts fail, Israel faces another election, and Netanyahu remains caretaker prime minister until a new government is formed.

Trump Epstein Report Names 11 Women Details New Assault Allegation Against US Democrats

House Democrats have released a report detailing allegations against Donald Trump linked to Jeffrey Epstein and called for an independent investigation.

Democratic staff of the House Judiciary Committee released a 53-page report on Monday compiling accounts from 11 women. According to the report, five have directly accused Donald Trump of rape or sexual assault in connection with Jeffrey Epstein. One account, from model Beatrice Keul, alleges Trump raped her at New York's Plaza Hotel in November 1993. TIME said it could not independently verify her account. The report also calls for an independent investigation into Epstein's associates and the Justice Department's handling of related records.

The White House rejected the report. Spokeswoman Lauren Bis said Trump had been "fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein." Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing. Representative Jamie Raskin has called for an independent special counsel. The report also questions Attorney General Todd Blanche's conduct during a July 2025 interview with Ghislaine Maxwell, and no charges have been announced in connection with that allegation. The report was released ahead of the November 3 US midterm elections.

At 64, retired Delhi judge Poonam A Bamba joined her 66-year-old husband on a trek she had never planned; over 10 days, she walked more than 65 km to Everest Base Camp without special training - The Times of India

Retired Delhi judge Poonam A Bamba, 64, joined her husband, Anil Bamba, 66, a former bureaucrat, on a trek to Everest Base Camp in November 2024, according to an Indian Express report. The unplanned 10-day trek covered more than 65 kilometres of rugged trails, forests, suspension bridges and biting cold, reaching an altitude of 5,364 metres. Bamba had no specialised trekking or altitude training, but she kept an active routine of walks, meditation, dancing and pranayama.

The group started in Lukla, Nepal, with a friend and a Sherpa guide, and sometimes walked nearly eight hours a day. Bamba said there were moments when she was "just done," but she drew reassurance from the guide's presence. Crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi River left her with an emotional response she had not expected. Before the trek, she had travelled to Antarctica. She joined the Delhi Higher Judicial Service in December 2002 and retired in 2023.

The train waited, the herd crossed, and then the giant leading them appeared: A loco pilot stopped mid-journey for a massive bison herd, and the last animal to emerge was a sight to behold - The Times of India

A loco pilot stopped a train on a forested stretch of railway track so a herd of Indian gaurs, also known as Indian bison, could cross the rails. A video of the encounter, captured from the driver's cabin and shared on Instagram Reels by @pappusharma861, shows around eight to 10 gaurs crossing one after another while the train remained stationary. The last animal, a heavily built male, paused on the tracks and turned toward the locomotive for a few seconds before moving into the forest.

Social media users praised the loco pilot's patience and presence of mind, and the video has drawn attention for the animal's size. The article notes that Indian gaurs are among the largest wild cattle in the world and are found in forested regions of the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia.

How to grow crunchy carrots at home: 5 simple steps for your kitchen garden

There’s nothing quite like pulling a carrot out of the soil, brushing it off, and biting into something that’s sweet, crisp and tastes nothing like the ones from the shop. Carrots have a reputation for being fussy, and anyone who’s grown thin, twisted or forked ones will tell you that.

Carrots are a cool-season crop. In most of India, the best time to sow is from October to November, though they can also be grown during the monsoon. They need a sunny spot with about six hours of sunlight and, in a pot, a container at least 12 inches deep. The soil should be loose, stone-free and well-draining, because stones and hard clumps can make roots fork, bend or stay stunted.

Sow seeds thinly and directly where they will grow, cover them with about half a centimetre of fine soil, and keep the top layer moist until they sprout, which can take one to three weeks. When seedlings are about two inches tall, thin them to two to three inches apart by snipping the extras at soil level. Water evenly, roughly an inch a week, and harvest most carrots in about 60 to 90 days.
